Course Description:
This training course will equip the participants with the knowledge of Desalination Technologies used in SWCC by visiting the Mega Desalination Project in Al-Jubail, as well as visiting the newest Desalination Plants in Saudi Arabia (Ras Al Khair). In addition, Participants will be briefed on the latest training methods offered by SWA, where the theoretical part of the course will be presented in the SWA classes and facilities.
once the course finished the attendance will be awarded Accredited Certification from Saudi Water Academy
Course Outline:
· SWCC overview including assets and capabilities
· Overview of SWCC future expansion plans
· Tour of DTRI (pilot plant and lab)
· Tour of SWA’s training Center
· Site visit to Ras Al Khair
· Site visit to Mega Project in Jubail
· Review and consider differences between Ras Al Khair and Jubail
· Meet and greet key SWCC department heads or their designees:
- Supply chain – how to qualify for SWCC projects.
- SWA – collaborate on training.
- DTRI – how to collaborate with SWCC.

Mr. Choules started his desalination and water treatment career over 40 years ago. Since then, he has worked in the areas of business development, permitting, start-up, commissioning, project management, and operating of reverse osmosis and thermal desalination plants around the world with industrial and municipal clients. He is the President of the Caribbean Desalination Association (CaribDA) and a former President of the Texas Desalination Association.

He has served as an expert advisor on some of the world’s largest and most technically advanced desalination projects and has been appointed to serve on committees by the US National Academy of Sciences, WHO, MEDRC, Australia’s National Center of Excellence in Desalination US DOE and Rice University’s NEWT Center. A former vice president of CH2M Hill (now Jacobs), and the director of corporate projects for USFilter/Veolia Water. He regularly writes and speaks about new desal, membrane and reuse technologies and trends.
